Industrial Safety Products- DURATUF RUBBER INSULATING MATS (ASTM-D-178)
Product Description
An Electrical Insulating Mat is a specialized rubber safety mat engineered to protect personnel from electrical shock hazards in high-voltage environments. These mats are made from high-quality dielectric rubber that resists electrical conduction, making them essential safety equipment for electricians, engineers, and maintenance teams working near live electrical systems.
We deliver rubber insulating mattings that are designed according to the ASTM D178 Standard. This standard is set by the American Society for Testing and Materials. These mattings are considered to be highly electrical resistant. They are non-conductive in nature and are meant to protect and insulate from deadly shocks caused by high voltage equipment. The ASTM D178 Standard endorses a thickness of 3.2 mm to 12.7 mm for these particular mattings. It depends upon the smooth lower surface with the usage/working voltage resistance & anti-skid textured surface on the top. Such safety rubber mattings (Type-1 Grade) are moisture, water & leakage proof that guarantee a long functional (work) life. A Type-2 Grade Insulating Mat contains certain additional properties such as Flame & Ozone resistance. Manufacturer’s Test Certificate is provided along with the supply.
Electrical rubber mats are a heavy-weight, non-conductive mat that is manufactured for safe electric use. These mats are produced following the specific standards put in place when creating electric mats like ANSI /ASTM D-178. These mats give a reliable barrier between conductive object(s) and human contact, thereby helping to reduce the chance of being shocked from electric current sources.
These type of electrical rubber mats are widely used across:
- Electrical control rooms
- Areas with the presence of transformer and/or switchgear
- Power stations and substations
- Motor control centres
- HT/LT switchboard rooms
- Areas where industrial maintenance is preformed
- Improved Electrical Isolation
Rubber insulating mats will not allow current to flow through them, and protect employees from the possibility of becoming shocked while working near or on live electrical equipment. Natural dielectric properties of rubber blocks the conduction of electricity and provides an extra level of protection when trying to avoid electric shocks.
- Safety Standard Compliant
Electrical insulating mats that are manufactured to a very high level according to the above mentioned standards (ANSI /ASTM D-178, IEC 61111 and many other worldwide safety standards) will perform effectively during insulated product testing under a very strict set of conditions.
- Long Lasting, Durable Product
Electrical insulating mats are resistant to moisture and water and have been manufactured to be long lasting when they are used in very demanding electrical environments.
- Slip Resistant and Ergonomically Designed
The ribbed or grooved surfaces of electrical insulating mats are designed to provide improved traction to prevent slips when used in industrial workspaces.
- Custom Sized and Voltage Class
Electrical insulating mats also come in many different thicknesses (from ~3mm to ~12.7+ mm. thick) and are manufactured to be optimally suitable for the use in either a specific voltage class. This diversity gives you added dimension to your many different applications of electrical insulating mats.
